
Nasir Husain was an Indian Film Producer, Director and Screenwriter.

Hussain first worked with Qamar Jalalabadi when he joined Filmistan as a writer in 1948. The famous films he wrote for Filmistan include “Anarkali, Munimaji and Paying Guest”. S. Mukharji gave Hussain a chance to direct “Tumsa Nahi Dekha”. Hussain became a successful director.

S. Mukharji established his own studio, Filmalaya. Hussain directed Film “Dil Deke Dekho ” for Filmalaya. This film was box office hit in 1959.
Hussain then set up Nasir Hussain Films and turned producer, director. Hussain made musical hits like “Jab Pyar Kisise Hota hai, Phir vohi dil laya hu, Teesari Manzil, Bavaro ke Sapane, Hum Kisise Kam Nahi”.

Hussain continued to write script and dialogues for film Qayamat se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jita Wohi Sikandar. Qayamat se Qayamat Tak a milestone in the history of hindi cinema. This film won the National Film Award for best Popular Film providing Wholesome Entertainment and eight Filmfare Awards for best film, best director, best male debut, best female debut, best music director, best male playback, best screenplay (Nasir Hussain), best Cinematography.
Hussain received a special Filmfare Award in 1996 for his contribution to Hindi Cinema.
