
Geeta Bali was Indian Cinema Actress who appeared in Hindi language films. Geeta Bali was only 12 she started her career as a child artist in R. K. Shorey’s film “The Cobbler”. Just a few years later, she made her debut as a heroine Manju’s “Badnami” (1946), shot in pre-partition Punjab.

In 1948 film “Sohag Rat” (wedding night) directed by Kidar Sharma, Geeta Bali made her debut in a lead role. Baburao Patel titling this review of the film in the August 1948 issue of Filmindia, as “Geeta Bali’s Sohag Rat”. According to author Ashok Raj “Kidar Sharma reached the zenith of his intense creative work with Sohag Rat. The film was to mark a turning point for its heroine, Geeta Bali.

Baazi (A Game of Chance) film directed by Guru Datt, building up the mood of a crime about to take place in a club, while the dancer (Geeta Bali) warns the hero (Dev Anand) to alert singing a song “Suno Gajar Kya Gaye”.

She starring in 1953 film “Baaz” (Falcon) was directed by Guru Datt which was adventure action movie. Adventure staged mainly on a ship. High – seas Adventure has freedom fighter Nisha (Geeta Bali) take over a ship to overthrow the Portuguese Rule in Malabar. Nisha known as “Baaz”.

Geeta Bali starring bollywood musical comedy film “Albela”. Bali was talented, lively dancer. In Albela, she and co-acter Bhagwan Dada famously dance to “Shola Jo Bhadke”. It was the third highest grossing film at the Indian Box Office.

Geeta Bali had earlier acted opposite her father-in-law Prithviraj Kapoor in Anand Math. She did several her films with Dev Anand. She acted in a range of genres, whether tragedy, comedy or drama. Geeta refused to play the typical crying heroine. Geeta’s charm lay in her naughtiness and grace.

On 23 August 1955, Geeta married Shammi Kapoor, with whom she was working in the film “Miss Coca Cola”.
